Video Transmitter Setup for FPV
Video Transmitter Setup for FPV
Proper video transmitter setup is critically important for quality FPV flight. This affects signal stability, image quality and transmission range.
Frequency Selection
Before starting setup, it's important to choose the right transmission frequency:
5.8 GHz band - most popular for FPV
Check local regulations regarding allowed frequencies
Avoid interference with other pilots at the same location
Power Settings
Transmitter power affects range and signal quality:
25mW - for indoor flights
200mW - standard power for most flights
600mW+ - for long-range flights (check regulations)
Antenna Connection
Important: Never turn on the transmitter without a connected antenna!

Ensure reliable connection

Use quality coaxial cables

Check SWR (standing wave ratio)
Betaflight Setup
In the "Video Transmitter" tab:

Choose the correct frequency table

Set transmission power

Enable SmartAudio (if supported)

Save settings
Testing
After setup, be sure to test:
Signal quality at different distances
Stability during maneuvers
Absence of interference
Tips for Improving Quality

Use polarized antennas

Keep antennas away from carbon parts

Regularly check connections

Use quality components
